 Sweeper Parts Beaumont - The city of Beaumont is situated in the Beaumont-Port Arthur Metropolitan statistical part and forms the Golden Triangle with the cities of Orange and Port Arthur, which is an important industrial area on the Gulf Coast. Presently, the city of Beaumont has a population of roughly 118,000 and is the Jefferson County's county seat.
Beaumont City sits approximately thirty miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico and is situated on the coastal plane south of the dense pine forests of East Texas. On the east border of the city of Beaumont is the Neches River and on the north border is the Pine Island Bayou. Initially, the city of Beaumont was criss-crossed by several small streams but as the city developed the majority of them were converted or filled for drainage purposes. Trinity Island is situated directly across from Riverfront Park, and the other three islands around the downtown area are named Smith, Clark and Harbor.
The area was first settled by Noah and Nancy Tevis in the year 1824. They made a farm on the west bank of the Neches River. A small community began to grow all-around the farm and was eventually named Neches River or Tevis Bluff Settlement. Henry Millard, Joseph P. Pulsifer and Thomas B. Huling purchased the small community together with the nearby community of Santa Anna in 1835 with the objective of planning a town. It was named after the late wife of henry Millard, Mary Dewburleigh Barlace Warren Beaumont, who passed away in the year 1834.
Lamar University is located within the city of Beaumont and presently hosts about 15,000 students. The city's daily newspaper is The Beaumont Enterprise, and The Examiner is published once a week.
The Port of Beaumont represents a significant element of the region's economy. It is now the biggest seaport by Tonnage and the second largest military seaport in the world. Stationed at the port are both the 596th Transportation Group and the 842nd Transportation Battalion.
There are several businesses which have their headquarters located in Beaumont City. Currently, Conn's Appliances and Jason's Deli are a couple of the largest. The Sweet Leaf Tea Company headquarters was initially located in the city of Beaumont but relocated to Austin in October 2003. Until it's absorption by Entergy Corporation in the year 1993, Gulf States Utilities likewise had its headquarters there. GSU's Edison Plaza remains the tallest building in Beaumont City.
Ever since the year 1907, Beaumont City has hosted the South Texas State fair and has recently relocated this exhibition to a new location within Ford Park.
The top companies within the city comprise Beaumont Independent School District, Conn's Appliances Inc., Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital, and Christus St, Elizabeth Hospital.
